Recognise and include the Indian Sign Language as the 23rd official language.

Axis Bank started this petition

India is a diverse country with 22 recognised languages in the constitution, but there is one language that we all use every day that is not officially recognised - Indian Sign Language (ISL). Unfortunately, many of us believe that sign language is only used by Deaf and Mute people, but this is a common misconception. We all use sign language in our daily lives - waving goodbye, pointing to ourselves, and more.

However, for millions of speech and hearing-impaired individuals in India, ISL is not just a form of expression, it's their primary mode of communication. Despite this, ISL is not recognised as one of the 22 scheduled languages in India.

At Axis Bank, we believe it's time to change this. That is why we've launched the 23in23 campaign, with the goal of making ISL the 23rd language in the Indian constitution by 2023. We are committed to making this a reality, and with your support, we can take the necessary steps toward achieving this important goal.

We urge you to join us in supporting this cause by signing the petition to make ISL an official language of India. Let us come together and make a difference in the lives of millions of individuals who rely on ISL for communication.
